DALLAS, Texas — JDP Enterprises Publishing (Linx Payment Systems LLC) announces release of “Surfing Payment Channels” (ISBN 978-0-9788698-0-9), a new book produced by payments expert, James D. Pitts. The book focuses on changes in the payments system as it evolves from paper to paperless. New laws (Check 21), new technology (RFID, contactless, biometrics, mobile devices), and a growing demand for flexibility, convenience and control on a real-time basis are exceeding traditional payments system capabilities.

These pressures are causing re-engineering of the highly complex and ever so crucial set of systems that support the economic health of a commercially flourishing society.

In recent years visionary organizations and individuals have been working to invent new payment channel alternatives to meet these changing needs while systematically maintaining high levels of efficiency, integrity and security needed to support financial transactions. Surfing Payment Channels partially chronicles the experiences, capabilities and predictions of these experts and their organizations during this transition.

Over a dozen key payments industry executives collaborated to create this collection of perspectives on the evolution of payment channels. The book features David Walker – president and CEO of ECCHO (Electronic Check Clearing House Organization), Cathryn R. Gregg – partner and director of Treasury Strategies Inc, Jerry Milano – general manager of check services for The Clearing House, Mohammad Khan – president and founder of ViVOtech, Mark A Johnson – vice chairman of CheckFree Corporation, Robert F. Kirk – president and CEO of VICOR (a Metavante company), Glenn Wheeler – president and CEO of the NCHA (National Clearing House Association); and Jeff Vetterick, vice president at Endpoint Exchange. Additional perspectives are included from Net Deposit Inc, Steve Bohn with eCharge2 Corporation, Joe Gregory with Orbograph, Gary Provo with eGistics, Wally Vogel with Creditron Corporation and Clint Shank with SortLogic Systems.

Primary Goals of the Book:

Promote: Generate awareness and understanding of concepts, ideas and opportunities related to the new payment channels vs. old.

Inform: Share current trends and alternatives along with history of payment channel dynamics influencing how changes have evolved.

Educate: Create a teaching aid for business professionals, leaders and students to help them understand the payments system and alternative channels available.

Surfing Payments Channels (ISBN 978-0-9788698-0-9) is being distributed by Thor Distribution and will be listed in the Ingram Book Group catalog. The book will be available through retailers and online services such as Barnes & Noble and Amazon.com at a price of $23.95 in the next few weeks.
